  1. To be honest, I haven't listened to their show in a while.  There was so much non-sport talk content that i deemed it unlistenable.  Betwee the 6 minute update breaks and 4 minute commercials in between, half the show was gone, not to mention the show had no flow.  Then, when they would talk there was often lengthy discussions about books or movies, which may or may not have even been sports related.  Agonizing segments analyzing TV ratings where Mike would, usually fairly accurately but boring nonetheless, predict the overnight ratings for certain events.

A lot of time was spent predicting outcomes of games, especially against the football betting line.  Their accuracy, and they picked only the games that they wanted to, hovered around the low 50% 's.  Umm, couldn't you flip a coin for that?

I realize that I stray from the mainstream here, the show was a big hit for two decades, but I won't miss it.

  2. I'm a fan.  I think they made a good team and made for interesting listening.  I don't think they will give Mike a new partner.  He wants to fly solo.

I'll continue to listen to Mike, especially during football season.

I heard Chris (Mad Dog) is going to Sirius.  I'll tune in and check him out when he starts his show.

  3. Hmm I have mixed feelings on this. I am a New Yorker so i watched and listened to the show every once in a while. Sometimes they had very good points sometimes not(mets should trade beltran for lowry, baseball should close down for 5 years to rid of steroids) Also its the Mets radio network and they have a San francisco Giants fan as the cohost!!!!!!!!! I mean y? It should be a Mets and Yankees fan its a New York channel and most importantly the Mets radio network. i mean cmon!

  4. Russo is a fraud.  Now maybe WFAN can hire someone who actually knows something about sports

  5. I don't know a thing about this show since I am in Chicago - but I bet they were loud and yelled a lot. Anyone who uses a nickname sucks.

  6. I live in Philly, but I can catch thier program.  They are both realistic fans that hammer the teams when they deserve it, and they are not big homers.  Who will I listen to when 950 is at commercial?

  7. That's tough news. Mike & The Mad Dog used to be a premier show on Sunday mornings.

  8. I just found out about it this morning, and that I heard Mad Dog going to Sirius. I still listen to the show at work and they both can be a bit annoying, but I happen to find Mad Dog quite entertaining sometimes especially on his Yankees rants and whenever his beloved San Fran. Giants stink lol.  I'm curious too see whose gonna be Mike's new co host and Mad Dog will probably be cursing a storm when he joins Sirius lol.
