Marcello Lippi believes that the Bianconeri have every chance of capturing the Serie A title, this season; insists both the teams must now fight point by point.
Marcello Lippi insisted that the fascinating battle between the two leaders of the Serie A is sure to go down to the wire.
The Rossoneri had a four-point lead over the Bianconeri at the start of the week, but their controversial 1-1 stalemate against Catania combined with the Old Lady’s 3-0 crushing victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, saw the lead reduced to just
two points.
The former Bianconeri coach believes that with just eight games left till the end of the season, both teams will need to fight with every ounce of energy left in them to win the crunch battle. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 boss insisted that
the teams must look to win all the fixtures in the season, and the battle for Scudetto will be fought point-by-point from here onwards.
While talking to the press, the 63-year-old Italian said:
"We are talking about a league that wasn't over before the weekend but that will be even better now. Milan and Juve must strive to win all their games and from here until the end of the season, they will fight [for the title] point
by point."
Lippi was all praise Coach Antonio Conte, for stupendously charging up the Old Lady’s campaign for the Serie A title against all expectations. He insisted that the Bianconeri coach’s brilliant run is not only amazing for the club,
but also a dream come true for the tactician.
"Conte is realising a dream by coaching Juventus. In the past there was [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovanni-c14985] Trapattoni, then Lippi and now we are hoping that this is the start of Conte's era."
When asked about his opinion on AC Milan’s return-leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, the veteran insisted that he expects a top-class football from both sides. The World Cup winner insisted that
the Rossoneri will need to take their best game to Camp Nou, in order to return as victors.
"I expect a game of a very high standard and Milan will need a big performance.”
Marcello Lippi enjoyed two stints with Juventus, and has been sitting out of the game after resigning as the Italy manager in 2010.
