  1. Bull. The story is that the kings wife for some reason or another (the story is kind of foggy in my mind) fell in love with the kings prized bull and mated with it. I think the bull was actually a god or something. Anyhow the queen got pregnant and had the minotaur. The king was ashamed and locked him in the labyrinth. The Greeks were some sexually disturbed people...

  2. the minotaur is part man part bull. tauri means bull in latin, so, the taur at the end of the word means bull.

  3. Bull

    The wikipedia article should mention some of the historical background for the origins of the "Minotaur."

    If I remember correctly, there was some bull-dancing ritual.

  4. Upper half Bull, lower half man.

  5. ..bull.

    A minotaur was an offspring of a beautiful maiden (I think, the mother was a daughter of the king of Minos(?)) who fell in love with a bull as was punished by the gods.

  6. bull

  7. He was part bull, part man.

  8. bull

    minotaur is a combination of these greek words:

    mino=of the king Minoas (Μίνωας)

    taur (ταύρος)=bull

    in greek: Μινώταυρος

    The religious ritual where bulls were used was called Taurokathapsia( Greek ταυροκαθάψια). The myth of the Minotaur is totally irrelevant with this ritual! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull-leapin...

  9. Bull!

  10. body of a strong man, head of a fierce bull.
