Okay if you are enlightened you should know there are only 4 races. The Caucoid,Austroid,******* & the Mongloid. No other races exsist, the Us census just "created' other terms.Peoples Native to Asia & the contintents of North & south America are Mongloids.Through my worldwide travels & library research,i notice big simalarities Bewtween peoples from Asia & Native north Americans. On my travels 2 Indonesia,Cambodia & Malayasia,I seen people that looked like they could be from Mexico or Peru. Both members of the Mongloid race. Also in parts of Mexico(Places like Puebla & Yucatan) i see (some)people that clearly look like they could be from Laos,Thailand,Philipines, ect.these are People whose ansestors migrated on a land bridge 10 thousand years ago.Does anyone else notice this??No racist comment please, this is social studies class.

  1. in US "race" is defined as a cultural thing, it's not just genes.

Latino people might share genes with East Asians, but the two groups have widely different culture, different attitudes, different issues, different history of interaction with white majority.

Specifically, Asians are almost never covered by Affirmative action programs; Mexicans are.

  2. The terms "caucasoid, *******, mongoloid, and australoid" are no longer in use by anthropologists. The problem is that those categorizations don't really reflect the genetic reality. It's like forcing a foot into a shoe it doesn't fit. It ignores the great amount of overlap, and the surface similarities that conceal great differences. Sure, there are similaries between different groups, and anthroplogists do explore what the connections are between Native Americans and Asians and other populations, but dividing them into only 4 categories is not useful.

  3. "Enlightened"?  One may choose to pick whatever categories they wish, there is no such thing as race in an absolute biological sense, the entire idea is a social construction.  Where do you draw the line in your scenario if everyone fits into these four choices?  Regardless of the continued mixing of ethnic backgrounds from globalization, think about the boundaries between these so called "races", what about the the varied features of the Arabs?  Some are quite "caucasian", others very "*******", and still others similar to the "mongloids".

The truth is an Asian individual has the same chances of having a closer genetic make up to a European or African as they do to a person of their neighboring village.  Adapting to the various environments may make certain regions of people take on certain characteristics, and mitochondrial DNA can certaintly track these patterns, but trying to divide humanity into races is purely a cultral and social endeavour and therefore a matter of perspective into how one wishes to categorize.  There are no subspecies.

  4. Well, you are getting older and seeing more about what this is all about...aren't you?

Hmmmm...now here's a word I'd like for you to think about..."categorisation"...and you might wish to take a good look at the language by which you currently communicating .

    But wait............there ...there's still more!!!!

For only 12.99 you too can own this handy little pair of.........

  5. So you are smart. So what? Do you expect every person on the planet to distill their heritage down to 4 possibles? How do you do that when you can't read and write. What world problem have you solved with your shocking revelation?

  6. According to some findings, the ancestors of modern day Red Indians came from Asia and migrated through Alaska and entered the American continents.

  7. Sorry. There are no races, only the one race divided into nationalities.

  8. Kate you observations are close to some studies.

It is said, before one of those ice ages, mongoloids migrated to North America. This is just based on some traits they observed in these two groups.

Moreover, you might be astonished to find the flora and fauna of those near pacific Asian islands and land masses of south east asia  such as java, sumatra and so on. Long long ago, the land mass was connected unlike as it stands today. Therefore, some animals were migrating to some of those islands of Indonesia. But couple of them lack entirely those species. Which proves that these animals moved from the main land asia when the land was connected and before it could spread to those isolated places, the land mass has divided.

    Your observations, I agree with.
