Yeah. Let in sink in for a sec. This thing washed up on the beach in Montauk on Long Island. It’s upper body looks like a dog, it’s lower body looks like poultry, it’s got a beak, and it’s got these weird as h**l fingers! Also HOW WEIRD is the little tag or rope wrapped around it’s arms? WHAT THE HELLLLLL?!

  1. i think its 2 animals mixed cause it has 4 legs and the news channels are saying it has a beak if not i have no idea wat that strange animal is

  2. WOW i was really suprised to see something like THAT! this is a vey rare animal( at least i think its an animal )  it is a break in the rules to hunt these animals

  3. I think it is real, but not a natural monster. I think it is an escaped monster from the US animal testing building nearby. I think that explains the thing on it's arm. I can see why some would say it is a turn without it's shell, but I have seen turtles without a shell it doesn't look like that at all. It can't be photo shopped. If it was photo shopped, they did it perfectly. Look at the lighting and the blending of the colors are flawless. I would really want to know how big it is, but the only thing we have to go on by size is fly on it's back. Why are new creatures we find are always so ugly, I would love to find a new species that is beautiful. It seems like some people only want to discover monsters.

  4. I wouldn't be surprised, I live in Montauk and there are a lot of strange occurences out here. Look up "The Montauk Project" on camp hero, which used to be the an air force base for the army in WWII. You'd be amazed....

  5. Confirmed by whom? Fox news? hah

Anyway, dude, that's so freaky. My first reaction: "MONSTER!!!!!!!!"

It kind of has the feel of a hoax to me. Why is there only one picture? In a few of the news reports I've read it's mentioned that several people were gathered around it. Seriously, how is it possible ALL of those people did not have a camera on them?

Yet somehow I prefer to think it's real. It's probably some creepy beast we've never come across before. You never know. People thought that living coelacanth was a hoax, too!

  6. I vote for monster...if it was a racoon, why does it have a beak? I'd go more for the sea turtle without it's shell.

  7. It is confirmed that it's a raccoon and the lower jaw is missing. It got snagged in debris while it was floating around in the water.

Nothing mysterious here. No monster. Just a few people with hyperactive imaginations and some others who are trying to promote their cheesy web site about cryptids.

UPDATE: Confirmed by Kay Merrill the reporter who wrote the newspaper article in that link provided by the OP. I wrote her an email and she replied to me and confirmed that it was undeniably identified as a raccoon. But hey -- if you want to believe there are "monsters" in Montauk don't let the facts stop you.
