The MotoGP Title Loses Its True Worth After Rossi’s Crash
It is strange but true! Valentino Rossi's absence from the track is most of all being missed by his rivals. As this year’s MotoGP Championship moves closer Valentino's rivals start missing him on the track as they proclaim that the title losses its lustre as the Italian showman is not competing.
Valentino would not be able to take part in the upcoming championship owing to his broken leg. The racing icon that had been able to shine at the track whenever he is out there had the worst crash of his career on the 5th of June, 2010, when he had an accident at the turn thirteen of Mugello Circuit in Italy during the practice session. This accident left the driver with an open fracture of his right shinbone, which, as per early reports could claim a couple months.
Rossi Valentino, the nine-time champion in all categories of the sport, had been the loved one on the track for a long time now.
The Spaniard driver, Jorge Lorenzo, who is Rossi's teammate for Yamaha and also the most favourite for the title this season, told reporters that the excitement of winning, without competing with the sport's champion would not remain the same.
He thought that the absence of Valentino is a pity for everyone as winning the world championship would lose its value if Valentino is not there to compete with.
He added that, it is his strong desire to be the world champion but he wants that with Valentino on the track. He further added that if it was possible for him, he would have loved to put all the legends of the motorcycle history on the track with him.
The American Ducati rider, Nicky Hayden, who beat Rossi to the title in the year 2006, while teamed Honda, commented that he thinks an asterisk might be added in the MotoGP history books against the name of year's winner. He added laughingly, that it was really a shame to think this way but anyhow that is what he thinks to be the truth.
He concluded saying that whosoever wins the race this year would think him to be less of a champion, for he had not grabbed the title after beating the twenty eight year old Rossi, who has so many titles and races to his name. But sadly he said that this is how it is supposed to go, as Rossi made a slight mistake which cost him the worst injury of his career.
Hayden also said that he would surely miss him and so would all the others at the sport, as it seems much better with him in it. As on the track he takes it to a higher level, whereas off the track he's a showman whom the people love.
Before the accident took place Lorenzo was already leading Rossi in the championship standings. He had a lead of 25 point over his fellow citizen, Dani Pedrosa, till now with 14 races yet to go including Sunday's.
The Spaniard, who had already won two races immediately before Mugello, said that before Valentino's crash he had beaten him twice, but now he thinks that if that had occupied Rossi’s mind or had he been thinking too hard over this.
However,  Lorenzo admits that his team mate's accident had put a powerful impact on his mind at Mugello and that he felt as if he had not been able to race as normal as was doing this season before the crash. However, he said resolutely that he would try to give his 100 percent on the new Silverstone track.
Even if unexpectedly the born racer, Rossi, somehow returns quicker than they say, the title hopes are now gone for sure for him, now he hopes are that his team mate would be able to keep enough concentration on his race to get hold of the title.
