I will be graduating with a BSN (bachelors of science in nursing) soon, in order to become a registered nurse i believe i need to take the nclex. If this is so, do i need to graduate before i take the exam?

Do i have to fullfill certain requirements before i am allowed to take the NCLEX?

  1. yes. to take the boards test, you have to finish your course. you instructor will help you all fill out the paperwork and send off for your state and federal background checks to be completed and fingerprints and a head shot of yourself. once these come back 'clear', then, they will be sent to the state board of nursing to 'apply' to take the test.

Make sure you don't omit anything from the questionairre on your state and federal background check. the smallest omittance can have it returned and you will have to send off for another background check. which, as is, takes a lil while to get back to you.

    hope this helps.
