it seems perfect, only gives off water vapor, water seems to not be so scarce...

  1. The flame from a hydrogen is very hot which  will produce a lot of NO2 .

  2. The trouble is that 90% of all the hydrogen we make comes from fossil fuels. Then there is the storage and transportation of the stuff. Then there is the refueling problems. (you can't just pour it in.) Solve these few things and you will be rich.

  3. Well, if you get into an accident, the toxic chemicals that allow a hydrogen cell to work might leak...

  4. hydrogen has a long ways to go in research before they can figure out how to make it safe I mean ur like driving a hydrogen bomb that would suck to get in a crash hahahaha I think air cars are a better alternative to a near solutions check out ConvertToAir.com for information on how air cars work :)

  5. #1 problem is there is no natural source of hydrogen on Earth. And making it takes more power that you need to run the car.

#2 problem is hydrogen is hard to store. It takes a very big tank to store enough to go the same distance that cars can go now on one tank of gas. And it has to be stored at very high pressure to get that much in the tank. Either that or it has to be liquid hydrogen, like the space shuttle uses. That takes incredible insulation to keep it from boiling away in a few hours, and liquefying it takes lots of energy too.

  6. It has some serious roadblocks.

    1) Where to get the hydrogen.  Currently 96% of our hydrogen comes from fossil fuels, which causes a large release of CO2 just like burning gasoline.  Only 4% comes from water because electrolysis is so inefficient.

    2) No transportation and storage infrastructure.  There are few hydrogen fueling stations.

    3) The risk of transporting a highly flammable gas around.

    4) Hydrogen fuel cells currently require platinum, which is extremely expensive.  Honda is currently leasing the FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell vehicle for $600/month.  That's just a lease!

    5) Electric cars are superior in almost every aspect.

See the link below for further details.

  7. There's really no negatives--other than yo u have to get the hydrogen fromoil, so you don't gain anything in terms of reducing CO2 emissions.

But the whole hydrogen car thing  is really a waste of time, in any case. What the fulel cell does ins burn hydrogen to producelectricity to power the car.

Electric cars are already here--the technology is cheaper, simpler, and more efficient.  And outperpform gas-oowered automobiles (seriously--go to Tessla.com and look).

So why waste the money on hydrogen cars. We already have better technology.

  8. I am quite sure hydrogen has yet to reach a economical / technological production solution.

  9. The problem is that hydrogen is extremely dangerous, and finding a way to deliver massive amounts of hydrogen across the country has been difficult.

The primary ways to produce hydrogen gas still uses fossil fuels. Either by reforming fossil fuel into hydrogen, or by using electrolysis.

But I am with you, I think that even with the downfalls, hydrogen seems to be the obvious energy source of the future. We will just need a full scale implementation to completely reduce greenhouse gasses.
