The New One eyeing winning hurdle debut in Newquay Zoo "National Hunt" Novices´ Hurdle
Double Ross to show his utility in Paignton Zoo Novices´ Chase
The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained, The New One, is a smart bumper performer, as his recent form in Flat races were well above average. The 4-year-old knows how to grab the glory, and there are a few very good reasons to suggest that he can strengthen his profile over hurdles.
Owned by Mrs S. Such, the bay gelding is in fine rhythm, and it will be very disappointing if he fails to make a winning start to his journey over hurdles. He has all the weapons to destroy the rivals in Newquay Zoo "National Hunt" Novices´ Hurdle, going down at Newton Abbot on Monday, October 01, 2012.
The son of King’s Theatre started off his 2012 campaign on a winning note. On the first of January, the maverick runner won Cheltenham’s EBF "High Sheriff of Gloucestershire's" "Junior" Standard Open NH Flat Race (Listed Race).
An unlucky defeat came to his way in March, but he quickly brought things under control. The biggest triumph of his career came at Aintree, where he comprehensively won the Grade 2, John Smith's Champion Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race in April.
Having tasted success at the top level, The New One is fully pumped. So, one can easily expect him to seal the first rank in today’s class 4 event, scheduled to begin at 14:00 GMT.
Paignton Zoo Novices´ Chase will be another thrilling contest at Newton Abbot. It has attracted only four runners, who will be in pursuit of a cash prize worth £3,574.
If we look at the fresh stats, there is hardly any difference between these four. However, our vote goes to Double Ross, who has done pretty well at the top level.
The 6-year-old was runner-up in April, before seizing the third place in a Grade 3 meeting last time. The Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (Registered As The Swinton) saw the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained missing the second place only by a neck’s distance.
He is open to improvement, and can easily produce a winning performance at this level. So, the bettors are advised not to overlook Double Ross’ chance, while staking their money. We wish the best of luck to all the horses.
