Off the bench
Wilson Chandler scored 21 points for the Knicks after coming off the bench. He didn’t allow the Bobcats to get back into the game, as he scored some big shots and stole the game for the Knicks.
Jackson added 18 points, and was 7 of 20 from the field. The Bobcats got another sub-par performance from Gerald Wallace, who could only score eight points on 4 of 10 shooting.
Felton proves himself
It was however Felton’s contribution and his effort to prove himself against his former team that gave the Knicks their second straight win in two nights. It was perhaps a bad decision by the Bobcats to not sign him in again. He skillfully hit 9 of 18 shots,
and saved six turnovers to ensure the win.
Felton was the fifth overall pick for the Bobcats in 2005. He won a national championship at North Carolina too. However, after Felton’s fifth season with Charlotte, Orlando Magic’s Jameer Nelson caught the attention of the Bobcats and Felton was not offered
a new contract.
Felton had specially invited his family and friends to watch the game. His father, mother and young son were some of those present to witness the victory.
Felton said after the game, "It's an emotional thing seeing everybody."
Felton received polite applause from the audience, as he was introduced with the Knicks.
