The Next Big Thing is....

Oil is the biggest thing right now which obviously made lots of people rich. What do you think will be the next one? Do you also think that Solar Energy will someday prevail as the main, main "thing" in a few decades like how oil is right now?

Solar is a long ways off from being a viable energy source.  It is very expensive, and very inefficient.  From an investment standpoint, solar will not be a major player.  The energy sector as a whole however has a long way to run still.  Agriculture, potable water, and infrastructure will become very big players in the near future.

Solar will be a minor player

But the next big thing is credit funds.

These are funds that collect money like a mutual fund and act as investment banks..This is the thing that will bring liquidity back to the credit markets.
