  1. Well for all tours I know of either footwear of your choice or footwear they provide you are fine. The only one that you must wear water shoes is Cave of the Winds of the American side they give you new watershoes to keep though as part of your addmsion.

  2. I was in Niagara Falls Canada this time last year, Im not sure what type of shoes they allow you to wear on the maid of the mist, but I believe flip flops would be allowed. Those boats are always very crowded, but look like alot of fun. The weather there last year was suprizingly hot, and very humid. I would take shorts and t-shirts, and maybe a thin hoodie, incase by some small chance it does get chilly during the night time. I spent the entire day there, and my friends who go there every year were like, no dont dress really warm, you'll get hot during this time of the year, so i wore a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Before I moved to Syracuse New York, "which is about a 3 hr drive from canada" I had lived in the south most of my life, and when its warm in Niagara Falls, its almost smoothering, because of the humidity, the humidity is alot worse than say Oklahoma or Texas would be right now. I left around 5 am that next morning, I stayed that night to watch the lightshow on the falls, you have to see that, it was so beautiful/ romantic, and so worth waiting around until about 9 p.m. to watch it. It was an unforgetable trip, Niagara Falls, is one of my favorite vacation spots now.

  3. There are two tours like that.  The one on the Candian side is  called The Journey Behind the Falls.  I've never been on that.  We went to the one from the American Side, Cave of the Winds.  They give you sandals that you can wear and keep as a souvenir. Or you can turn them in and they will be donated somehow.   You can keep the poncho too, or they recycle those if you don't want to carry around a soaking wet plastic poncho!  It was a lot of fun.

It was a bit warm there when we were there, July 4 -7, kind of warm for all of the walking we wound up doing, and very muggy under the ponchos!

You can buy a package of tickets for six things in the State Park for $30. (on the American side).  That is what we did.  It included the Cave of the Winds, the Maid of the Mist, the trolley, the movie, the Aquarium, and the Gorge Discovery Center.

My kids wore flip flops the entire time, except for the Cave of the Winds.  We did a lot of walking, but they were fine.

    Have fun!

  4. The Journey Behind the Falls?? Flips are allowed, but the caves are quite slippery, so mind your step. Tis quite humid this time of year, but nice right by the Falls with all the mist. Enjoy your trip!

  5. Don't know any that go under the falls.  I was just there Tuesday.  There's Maid of the Mist.  It's a ferry boat that takes you super close to the Horseshoe Falls.  It's amazing.  You'll get wet, so they give you a plastic disposable rain coat.  If you stay downstairs inside the boat, you'll stay dry, but upstairs outside is where the action is.

There is also an attraction called " Behind the Falls"  You do down into a cave like walkway and look at the water falling from behind.  There is also a walk out area where you'll get wet and the wind blows.

The weather on Tuesday was hot, guessing 30 C, or 86 F. Haven't heard of any restrictions on footware.

  6. Hi, the weather in niagara falls in the summer is hot!!! be sure to bring shorts and t-shirts!

  7. You are thinking of Cave of the Winds - they give you shoes to wear.  Have fun!

  8. If this is Niagara Falls Canada, they give you a panscho on MAID OF THE MIST. (falls tour) And you wont get wet if you don't want too.

There are two floors to the boat, if you stand on the bottom you don't get as wet or wet at all.

But if you want to get wet, I found that the best results were the top of the boat, stern and bow.

    Hope this helps!
