  1. The one you are looking for is probably just Notre Dame de (insert the city).  There are literally hundreds of "Notre Dame" cathedrals in France.  Translated it means "Our Lady of...."  and then it's usually assigned a city name or an event (eg Notre Dame de l'Assumption.)

Some of the famous Notre Dame cathedrals in France are: Notre Dame de Paris

    Notre-Dame de la Garde (Marseille)

    Notre-Dame de Chartres Cathedral

    Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral

Notre-Dame de Strasbourg (One of the largest and most magnificent)

Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp.

  2. Was it in Stasbourg? A very nice one, east of Paris, next to Germany

  3. You are going to have to provide us with the city and maybe a theme.  As people above have said, Notre Dame means "our lady" and that lady - in case you are not catholic - is the Virgin Mary.  Not only is she often called a lady of a city but also of countless appearances over the centuries.

Your question is so broad - It is almost like you are asking which street called "main street" in America where you on that had a bank on it?

  4. Notre Dame De Paris =  Our lady of Paris, took 180 years to build  and jolly nice it looks too....

  5. Notre Dame only means 'our Lady', as plenty of churches and cathedrals in France have been built in honour of the Virgin Mary you have looooooots of choice. You stumble over a Notre Dame anywhere you go in France.

Even in Paris you have Notre Dame de Paris (the cathedral), Notre dame de Lorette, Notre-Dame de la Croix de Ménilmontant...

    What city were you in?

  6. Notre Dame de... is the name of Cathedrals and several churches in France, so for Paris you will visit "Notre Dame de Paris", for Strasbourg "Notre Dame de Strasbourg".

  7. You need to give more info. Where in France was it? Notre Dame means Our Lady so it could have been any one of thousands. There is Notre Dame de la Garde or Notre Dame de la Salette, Notre Dame de la Sarthe, Notre Dame de Lourdes sanctuary and thousands more. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

  8. there are several - was it ND de Reims, ND de la Garde in Marseille?

  9. There are loads "Our Lady of ...." We have loads over here too.
