  1. I had used the suppositories (messy), and still miscarried. I'm doing progesterone injections this time. No, there are no pills. I'm also taking estrogen pills and patches, but that's because we did invitro. I don't think you need all that if you conceived naturally.

  2. use the progesterone suppositories, esp. since you have a history of m/c's. progesterone is a hormone that thickens the lining of the uterus (endometrium) and prepares the uterus for pregnancy and the implantation of the zygote. the body manufactures increased levels of progesterone after ovulation. for some reason, the body sometimes does not produce enough progesterone and this, in addition to other factors, contributes to miscarriages.

around week 12 of the pregnancy, your doctor will probably draw blood to determine your progesterone levels and you will hopefully no longer need the vaginal suppositories.

although progesterone therapy (creams, oral, vag suppositories, bio-natural, etc.) is controversial, many women SWEAR by progesterone! look around yahoo answers TTC and you'll learn of a lot of success. Amp up your progesterone and you'll be fine.

    good luck

p.s. and yes, there is an oral form of progesterone: Prometrium. but some believe the progesterone is better absorbed when applied vaginally (i.e., suppositories) or topically (i.e., cream).

  3. Actually there is a pill called prometrium. I took that but still miscarried but it was easier than taking suppositories. Also it can't hurt you to take it at all so it may be worth a shot if your Doctor thinks it will help. It is rather expensive but your baby deserves the best. Good luck!
