  1. the Iliad came first and is about the Trojan War and focuses on the hero Achilles. The Odyssey is like the sequel for the Iliad, Odysseus was also a character in the Iliad (he was the one who came up with the the horse idea) and the Odyssey focuses on his journey home. As for which is better, that all depends on your opinion... i suggest reading both

    Read them when I was 11............long time ago.
