Question:

The Olympics, working visas and Canadians?

My boyfriend and I are traveling to China and we want to arrive on a tourist visa and have a working visa processed for teaching English once we arrive and find a job (just to ensure the working contract is up to snuff). I know you can do the Hong Kong run to have it processed there.

I've heard that the olympics may complicate this process and that only citizens from select countries will be able to do this. Does anyone know if this is true? We are Canadian citizens and we'd prefer to have the working visa processed over there.

  1. I would make inquiries with the Chinese embassy here in Canada. Written confirmation would be helpful too. I am sure they would be in a better position to answer your queries.

  2. Normally u must have the document about your job order in the destination country. Then you 'll got  your working visa.

    Daaaaaaah.
