The Olympics US team-Surely not????Please clarify for me!!!

Hi, Yesturday I asked a question about womens tennis and someone said Jennifer Capriati is on the US Olympics team!!! Surely this isn't true??!

I have searched the web and everything but I have found nothing to support this, Can someone clarify for me?

I am her biggest fan and would have heard about this!! I really miss her!

Oh yeah while I'm at it has anyone heard any news recently-Is she nearing a comeback? I heard she can now do 6 hours training a day.

No, the US female players are Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Lindsay Davenport, and Liezel Huber (she got her American citizenship last year).

On the US teams olympic site she is listed as a team member.  I think that is for recent players who have represented USA.

The official list doesnt have her down (see the itftennis link below).

You heard wrong.  This is why you can't find any information about it.

The following is a clip from the official announcement from the U.S. Olympic team back in June.

U.S. women's tennis coach Zina Garrison announced a four-woman team with three singles entries and two doubles teams. All three singles players -- Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport -- are former Olympic gold medal winners. The two nominated U.S. women's doubles teams consist of world No. 1 Liezel Huber with Davenport and the Williams sisters.

Honestly, I havent heard the name Capriati in the mix for awhile, so I believe it is absolutely untrue.
