Question:

The Olympics - how many are taking drugs?

Ignoring the less physically demanding events, what do you think? 0%? 50%? 100%? Having been involved in amateur track and field for a considerable time, and having seen the alarming increase in drug taking at this level, I can say with some assurance that it is virtually 100%. Obviously the type and degree of drug taking will vary from athlete to athlete, but they are still, nonetheless, taking them. Most alarming of all, though, is the widening gap between the chemists' new, and increasingly numerous, concoctions, particularly synthetic, and the testers' ability to detect them. Forget about the spin perpetrated by the various authorities, the gap has never been so wide, and is getting wider all the time.

  1. Most of the commentators sound like they are not sure about the athletes though.

  2. the easier question is how many aren't?  it's Newton's Third Law of Physics hard at work and most of the enhancers they are using now won't be detectable for another dozen years and by then the users will have something EQUALLY undetectable to work with...

  3. Five have been busted so far,

  4. Nobody is taking drugs, if they would why would they even make the olympics and spend all this money and time? that would just take the point of practing and exercising for that requirement event

  5. 50

  6. A Small number of people ;)
