The one who failed to get the 2011 Tour card
So Billy Mayfair earns the medalist honours, Joe Bramlett makes it through the Q-School, Nathan Smith finishes at a 12 under but James Driscoll decides he needs to finish at the 157th place on the money list so that
he can stand the farthest from the 2011 tour card milieu.
After playing a splendid game of sixties at the first four rounds of the PGA Tour Qualifying School, the golfer faltered in the last two rounds of the event.
According to the commentators, Driscoll’s 4 day play had ended a bit too easily for him. The Jupiter’s golfer carded an amazing initial score of two 68s in the first two rounds of the Qualifying school. The third and fourth remained
consistent for the golfer as he collected a 69 and a later a better 66, which is the best score Driscoll managed to card in his entire play.
As far as the last two rounds were concerned, the thirty three year old displayed his worst performance at the fifth round with a 75. The Panther Lake further witnessed the thirty three year old play his last round with a much
better score from the last round and he carded a 72 missing the tour card.
“I was under the idea of skimming through the tournament but considering my performance in the last two rounds of the event, the situation turned a bit thick for me” Driscoll said.
According to the last round play by the golfer, his performance changed directions when most golfers would rather not like it. The situation was reported to have turned bad at the 6th hole of the tournament.
“I just tried to hang in the situation” He said.
Before the last round episode, Driscoll stood amidst the honoured cult of the PGA Tour playing privileges and later dropped two places out of the sect. The golfer carded a par 72 on the Crooked Cat golf course that placed him two
steps out of the top 25 finishers and ties.
With Mondays play ending on such a note, Driscoll had to erase his name from the list of 29 players who were out there to get their Tour card for 2011. The competitive cluster was being led by Billy Mayfair who played a total of
411 strokes with a minus 18 while Joseph Bramlett became known as the second golfer to join Tiger Woods, being of black heritage as well.
“I’m looking forward to play with Joseph” Woods said.
