The Oregon State women head off to the inaugural Pac-10/SEC Women's Golf Challenge

The Oregon State women's golf team will be bringing a close to its fall season play after appearing at the inaugural Pac-10/SEC Women's Golf Challenge. The event will be played from Friday the 5th of November till Sunday the 7th
at Stanford, Calif.
The golf challenge will be hosting a field of 21 teams and is a three hole event. The event includes teams from the Pacific 10 Conference and the South Eastern Conference and will be playing a total of 54 holes.
According to the head coach of Oregon State, Risë Alexander, before they head off to the NCAA Regional, the Stanford Golf Course is probably the most competitive fields they can play in.
The Stanford Golf Course consists of 6,103 yards and is a 71 par field. The tournament will be welcoming top ten teams from the top 25 list of golf teams while 6 teams will appear from the top ten list to the field.
From the Pacific 10 Conference and the South Eastern Conference, team Arizona State is the only school that will not be competing this time.
“This event will benefit us a lot” Risë Alexander said.
The coach said that they have had some good sessions of preparatory rounds and are hence "all ready" to play the event with high form. Alexander said they face a good chance of increasing their ranking position as well as their
confidence level after playing the inaugural Pac-10/SEC Women's Golf Challenge with the help of high scores.
The Oregon State women include two juniors in its line-up, Whitney French and Elyse Okada. Other than the 2 juniors, the team also includes one sophomore and 2 freshmen, Chelsey Lind, Seshia Telles and Lauren Sewell.
The head coach seems extremely confident of her team and said that the players know what this field is about. Alexander said that the juniors, Whitney French and Elyse Okada have played the Stanford Golf Course a total of 8 times
in their careers, thus, the course has provided The Oregon State line-up, a good amount of experience.
The tournament will start on Friday at 7:30 in the morning and will follow the same schedule in the second round. The third round of the tournament will however, start at 8:30 in the morning.
Apart from the Oregon State news, The First Tee of Philadelphia and The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust received an amount of $25,000 and $8,000 from The AT&T National and Aronimink Golf Club as donation. The $78,500 donation
was made to 15 local and national charities on Tuesday due to the PGA Tour played in the month of July.
