Let me explain. Why are people upset at the packers for trading away favre. The packers are obviously better with him, but its not fair for him to announce his retirement 3 YEARS IN A ROW!!!!! Even cried after this season retirement speech. Packers have make off season plans thinking he's going to be out of the picture for him to wait until training camp to say he wants to come back. Yes he is a legend/ top 20 QB ever, would be higher but he threw the most interception ever and only won 1 super bowl. But he's ultra durability, arm strength, love for the game, and great under pressure. In other word he is overrated and if anyone saids he is top 3 or best QB ever is a joke. It mind boggling to me that just because he did great thing in the past and have a out of nowhere good season last year, people thinks he do it again at the same pace...like he's in he prime(Chris Carter is BF ###kisser on NFL LIVE). But in reality he is getting older I think the packer let him go cause they were sick of him retiring then unretiring and plus u got to think the packer see something special in Aaron Rodger to say good bye to farve. The packers have to see want they have in the future. They are taking a slight gamble only because Favre had 2 average seasons at best b4 last season, so understandably they probably thinking farve is getting older and last year is not going to happen again we need to develop our FUTURE QB cause the only way QB can get better is by playing regular season games not pre-season. The packers have enough pieces around Rodgers so he doest have to carry the team, plus they are in the NFC and there conference is weak except for the viking maybe, so they may still when the division. The packers even with Brett is not enough to win it all so why not develop a young good qb ? The packers are in the right with not letting Brett back. Brett earn and deserves to be taking back the first 2 times but 3 time make u wanna say, "Come on Brett your past your prime , u retired 3 time already, we made plans thinking u weren't going to be here(drafting 2 QB this year), we have nice young QB that we need to develop, we need to think about the future, stop saying I felt pressured to retire cause thats bs, we loved u here but here's your trade to the jets. Play games with the jets gm cause frankly were sick of u not the way u play just U". What do u think?

  1. First of all here is where you are wrong, Favre did not "announce his retirement 3 YEARS IN A ROW!!!!!"  He thought about retirement three years in a row but only announced it once and that was in 2008.  Second the Packers keept hounding Favre for an answer to if he was retireing this season.  They wanted to know before the NFL Draft.  Favre thought he had no other choice but to make a decision before he was ready.  At the time he decided to retire he felt that he did not want to play any more.  You have to remember that he was hounded to make this decision less then two months after he played his last game.  I believe that if he had more time he would have choosen to stay and play rather then retire.    You said the Packers were sick of him retireing then unretireing.  I'm not sure where you are getting your facts from, but Favre only retired once and that was in 2008.  He did not retire three times in a row.  Man, you sure do not know what you are talking about.

  2. Brett's incredibly frustrated trying to find an identity apart from football.  Because he's struggling with that, he's done some things I think he knows weren't ideal.  It's frustrating for the team as well because they want to honor and respect his legacy, but as you covered, they have to know there's a cutoff point somewhere.  Brett will discover what the Pack management already know - it's time.  But let's not sully his reputation because of his frustration.  Let's just understand that the greatest are so focused around their sport they often find it exceptionally difficult to quit.  He's the toughest guy to ever play the QB spot. That means something.  I can forgive the nonsense.

  3. I get what you said, NO This was a Bad Idea, If they should've trade him to anyplace at all It should've been Tampa Bay they are a better Team then the Jets, who does Favre have to work with in New York, Face It He should've stayed Retired, and Now his Career is Ruined.

  4. I didn't read the whole thing, but I do agree with some of what you said. I think the Packers did the right thing as well with going with A-Rodg. I personally thought they had more to lose than gain if they would have accepted Favre back. Rodgers contract is up next season and I don't think he would have been to keen on signing back to a team that told him he was the starter then turned around and "GAVE" Favre his job back. They way they handled it was very unprofessional I must say and going to Miss. to bribe Favre will $25 mill. was an insult. I think Favre might have thought him getting his job back wasn't going to be as difficult as it was for him . I think Favre still had some play in him, but I don't agree with the choses he made in the situtation. If he had even the slightest doubt that he wanted to come back, he should have talked to the Packers organization before they drafted 2 QB's. I think Favre had a ton of time to talk things over with the Packers after his retirement.

As for the future, I'm confident with A-Rodg. I think he has more pressure on him now that Favre is a Jet more than ever. I think he will shock a lot of people with his talent. Even Favre has talked about the type of team the Packers and rodgers are. If Rodgers just goes into the season not wanting to live up to Favres legacy, which I don't think he will, he will set his own pace and game and be the leader of the Packers and I believe he can be.

  5. the packers coach is jealous wost trade ever

  6. I agree with everything to some degree, but it was just stupid how they treated him after pulling off a great season. It wasn't a fluke, it was dedication, after having a 4-12 season in 2005 he changed drastically what he did in the off season. Yes, Mike Sherman did probably have a lot to do with the team after Mike McCarthy took over. the last season was 13-3, 8-8,4-12,10-6,10-6.

So how exactly did last season come out of nowhere. It was a great improvement, but no where near a fluke. Mike McCarthy took over after the 4-12 season. Since 1992 Green Bay has only missed the play off 5 times. Sounds like more than 2 average seasons.

I respect how they are looking more to the future instead of looking for a super bowl appearance. Though after what I heard of Aaron on Sundays scrimmage I'd be begging for Favre to come back.

  7. you make some good points and i agree with some of what you said , but i really like watching bret and i wanted to give you mt 2 cents

the packers wouldnt let favre go to the team he wanted ,

if he went to the bears or vikings and beat the packers 2 times and won the division the green bay managment would look even dumber than they already do

brett wants to play and the jets were the best fit that was an option for him , the jets have spent a lot of money retooling for this year and they treat brett the way a superstar should be treated

if i was running a football team i woulld kiss bretts *** and throw rose petals down in front of his feet as he walked ... the packers screwed up bad on this ...

did you see the jets picked up favre in a LIMO !!! ... thats how you treat your star and hero
