I'm an attorney who represents dozens of gated communities in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and Saint Lucie Counties.  The prices are still falling and are expected to keep falling for some time.  Depending upon the community, prices are down between 20 and 50 percent.  If I were you, I would rent for the first year and then re-evaluate the market.


  2. You're getting all tangled up in what you read in the papers.

    If you find a house or condo for sale in Florida then the price will have already been adjusted for the current market. Don't worry about what it used to be, find what you think is a good deal. Find a good Real Estate Agent buyers agent and they will show you the deals that they see on a daily basis. Now is the time to buy if you have the money and yes the market may go down some more but you can't time a market that close. Your going to live there, not flip it.
