The Phrase,"Murder She Wrote"?

Does anyone know where this phrase originated from. I always say it, and hear others say it too.Thanks to all.

Murder, She Wrote was a 1980's era TV series about a widowed, retired teacher who wrote murder/mystery novels.  When she wasn't writing mysteries, she was helping law enforcement solve murders. It starred Angela Lansbury.  It can still be seen in reruns on TV.

There was also a song written by a Jamaican group in the '90s, titled Murder She Wrote, that had no connection to the series.
