I have read this book and I need a to make a poster out of symbols in the book. I have only thought about the portrait, but I need more. Help me think of a few more symbols in the novel. Ex. A pic of a heart could symbolize love.

  1. In addition to what was already suggested, I would add a mirror which symbolizes vanity. Dorian certainly embraced that. Also find something that symbolizes hedonism.

  2. The Yellow Book, the book Henry gives to Dorian, represents how art can twist a person's life. Dorian takes the book and bases his life off of it, which is meant to show what can happen to a person if they let something consume them.

There's the Opium Lenses as well.

There's symbolism in Sibyl Vane's name, a well. A Sibyl is a female who possesses the gifts of foresight and prophesying, and no one listens to her. "Vane" is a person who changes easily.
