The Players Championship 2011 reinforced with six dazzling entertainment venues
Keeping in view of the long awaited public demand, the organisers at The Players Championship announced the addition of six spectacular new venues on the flamboyant Stadium Course of TPC Sawgrass. The extension has been carried out from the fan feedback
received in the 2010 episode of the championship, where fans expressed their dismay over the lack of shaded resting places and other facilities. The new venues will provide an upgraded fan experience with more bathrooms, areas of relaxation, small cafés and
restaurants.
The Players executive director, Matt Rapp, also highlighted the reduction in tickets and other attractive changes which have been brought in by the organisers. “Our main focus for 2011 has been on creating an enhanced experience for our patrons,” Matt Rapp,
said in a news release. “We have lowered ticket prices substantially, almost doubled the number of high-end restroom facilities and created several new venues where fans can go to cool off, enjoy some refreshments and recharge.”
Following new venues have been added for the championship in 2011:
The Terrace
This new cash bar with tables and umbrellas is located in the clubhouse side lawn. The Terrace is one of the only two locations outside the private fan hospitality venues along with the Jeld-Wen Stadium Village. Fans and spectators will get a chance to buy
drinks and replenish their energies for more sports ahead.
Four Points
Adjacent to the practice area pond and west of 18 green, Four Points will be an exterior fan zone providing food and beverages to the fans for cash.
The Grove
The grove is located next to The Food Court, close to the 17th tee. It is also designed to provide drinks and food items to the visiting fans and patrons, allowing them to relax and enjoy their time closer to the hustle of The Food Court.
The Bluff
The old grandstand from the 18 green has been removed and the place now boasts a new and comfortable sitting arrangement, providing a breathtaking view of the 18 green. The first 200 fans to arrive at The Bluff will get a chance to enjoy the sport from the
comfort of a comfy chair, provided by the staff free of cost. This new venue will also provide food and drinks waited by specialised staff.
The Patio
This will be another shaded area which will provide beverages and food article, located southeast of the Jeld-Wen Stadium Village, close to number 10 tee.
The Courtyard
Located behind number 16 tee, The Courtyard will provide beer, wine, soda and some light snacks, in an open air relaxing atmosphere.
Apart from these new added features, Rapp also disclosed that the championship has already gathered a colossal $1.5 million for various charity causes that it supports, six weeks before the championship. Around 197 non-profit organisations are participating
in the 2011 event, which will benefit from the earnings.
