The Power of Darkness?

Ok if we're talking in terms of yin/yang, opposite but equal, wouldn't darkness have as much power as light? i don't beleive evil has power over good, i believe good always prevails, but i also believe darkness and evil don't have to be the same thing.

  1. Darkness can be as immense as light IF we allow it to become so...it is more a matter of potentiality than of reality...yin and yang also teach us that nothing is purely light in this world...nor pure darkness...each has at least a small essense of the other, and the narrower your viewpoint, the less you are able to be sure which half of the yin or the yang your desires embrace.

  2. The light and darkness analogy doesn't work with good and evil. It is true that if all good is gone from a place, then evil will exist in it. However, the existence of this evil is not at all dependent on the existence of the good there. It has simply always existed there. By contrast, darkness is merely a perception that light is absent. Darkness itself does not exist, in a sense.
