‘The Power’ over powers ‘The Wizard’!!!
Phil Taylor also known as ‘The Power’, has ripped Simon Whitlock apart in an embarrassing faceoff in the Premiere League. ‘The Power’ showed off his dart power by beating him with a record average of 117.
Taylor was in magical form since the start, as Whitlock gave up on an early stage of the match through his bad play. Taylor’s form was inspirational, as his accuracy got him an early lead.
Taylor had an 80 percent checkout rate which was indeed a punch on his opponent’s face. He is considered the best darts player ever to have played this game and holds up to these words.
He is a five-time world player of the year, and has been nominated as the BBC sports personality of the year twice.
He is the first person to hit two nine darters in one match. He is currently the world number one and he is called ‘The Power’ for a reason.
Simon Whitlock, on the other hand, has not come up to the mark where he can even think of competing with Taylor. Whitlock is the only player who has not won the World Championship after reaching its final.
Whitlock’s faceoff with Taylor was considered as a Davis versus Goliath scenario, as Taylor dominated the entire match and did not let Whitlock even try scoring.
Taylor has set his eyes on Adrian Lewis with his record breaking win over Whitlock. “I would love to play Lewis in the final because he has been giving me a lot of stick,” said Taylor in an interview after his victory.
Darts lovers are anticipating a historic faceoff between Taylor and Lewis if they are in the final against each other.
Lewis has been in terrific form lately with his wins and Taylor has never been this aggressive.
Speculations surrounding the faceoff between Taylor and Lewis are uneven. One is regarded as the best darts player ever to have played this game, the other keeps on repeating invincibility with his unmatched, unparallel game-play.
Fans are looking forward to the Lewis versus Taylor faceoff with clinched fists and some people are even taking off from their work to witness this historic battle royal of the darts world.
As far as the match between Taylor and Whitlock goes, ‘The power’ was too much for ‘The Wizard’ to tackle.
