  1. To me it means life teaches us many things but we never get a receipt for the price we paid for our experiences.


  2. Well one, I'm pretty sure that mean receipt instead of recite. If not, please correct me as that would change the context of the quote.

    However, under the assumption that you mean receipt, the quote ultimately communicates that what we suffer in life and what we sacrifice under the assumption we will get what we want is not formally recognized. You can put forth major effort and receive no recognition simply because there is no system for identifying the measure of individual hardship.
