The Prince of Wales' military service...?

All British sovereigns have "5-star" grades in each of their armed services.

When the Prince commanded HMS Bronington in the 1976, he was a lieutenant in the Royal Navy.

Question: Do you suppose that he had a "5-star" uniform packed away, just in case he was at sea and the Queen died? Surely a sovereign couldn't wear a lowly lieutenant's insignia.

  1. never give it a thought

  2. For what it is worth, I think he would have had to. He might have gone off a naval lieutenant, but if the current English Queen and passed away when he was at sea, then he would then have been the King so he would have had to have had the top uniform

  3. Says it all, Admiral of the fleet commanding a Minesweeper, should have sent him to the Falklands, could have entertained the troops with Goon impressions.
