The Yankees scored their only run in the top of the fifth, with Rodriguez hitting a double to deep left centre field. Berkman then flied out to centre field, with Rodriguez getting to third. After a wild pitch by Lewis, Rodriguez made an unearned home run
followed by Swisher grounding out, Posada hitting a double to right field, and Thames striking out. The score was now 1-all.
Texas’ four run inning was in the bottom of the fifth, with Moreland hitting a single off of the first pitch. Andrus then grounded out to second, allowing Moreland to get to second, followed by Young grounding out to the pitcher, pushing Moreland to third.
Hamilton was then intentionally walked, his second in the game, followed by Guerrero hitting a double to deep centre field, allowing Moreland and Hamilton to score. David Robertson then replaced Hughes as pitcher followed by Cruz hitting a home run to left
centre, also allowing Guerrero to score. Kinsler then hit a double to left field and was then called out at third after Murphy hit a grounder to third.

"We didn't accomplish what we set out to. And as I told my guys, this hurts,"
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "I've been through it as a player. I've been through it as a coach and now I've been through it as a manager. It's not a lot of fun watching other teams celebrate. They beat us. They outhit us, they outpitched us,
outplayed us and they beat us."
The Rangers’ opponent in the World Series will be decided by Sunday October 24, 2010. If the San Francisco Giants win their game on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies, then they will advance, but if the Phillies win, the deciding game will be Game
7 on Sunday. Whichever team wins that game would advance to the playoffs.
Game 6 of the NLCS between the Giants and Phillies will take place on Saturday October 23, 2010 at 7:57 PM ET at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. If there is a Game 7, it will take place on Sunday, also in Philadelphia.
