I read on the official site that you can request flypasts and it said it needs to be near an airport so they can re-fuel etc........but how close does it need to be near an airport?

Thx,

  1. it is my understanding that they fly in from Anglesey and they fly over the location for the display and then they fly back. So the limit is how big their tank is and the mpg, on which I can't give you any deails on their range

  2. clacton have them every year

we're in stansteds flightpath (i think)

  3. A flypast or a display? For a flypast, where they just go overhead, probably in formation then most places in the UK are accessable.

If you want a display you have to be nearer an airport but still that doesn't leave out many places where there is a decent sized population (you might struggle to get them in Fort William perhaps).

If the jets travel at 240mph, then they travel 4 miles in a minute, so as long as there is an aiport within say, 40 miles they should be able to get there

  4. Why don't you email them and ask them? They might be better informed than us lot!
