The Red Bull Racing continues on with the battle of words… (Part 2)
The Red Bull team boss, Christian Horner has completely dismissed the accusation of the team driver, Mark Webber who said that the team has an ‘obvious emotionally backing’ for the other team driver Sebastian Vettel.
While talking to the media a little while ago, the driver accused the team for an ‘obvious’ attachment with Vettel, Horner said that the team has proclaimed time and again that both the drivers mean just the same to it. He further added that the crew would
be surprised and hurt to hear what the Australian driver has said.
He further insisted that he has no idea why the driver would say such a thing as he does not see any grounds for him to feel undervalued.
Horner, on second thought suggested that by saying this Webber might want to refer to the close attachment that Vettel has with the Red Bull company's motorsport advisor Helmut Marko. He continued telling that other than this, there is no reason why the
Australian driver felt anything as such for he was certain that he has never let anybody in the team fell less valued than other.
He explained saying, "I'd have to understand what Mark meant by those comments because he's had tremendous support from the team, not just this year but in all the years that he's been with Red Bull. He's probably referring to the support of Helmut Marko
for Sebastian Vettel, but that doesn't influence the way the team operates or the way it supports its drivers."
The team principal has assured several times throughout the season that no team orders or biased would ever be practiced in the team. However, a bad air has been witnessed between the team drivers all through the season. There had been many incidents on
and off the track right from the mid season suggesting that the two team drivers are not on very friendly grounds with each other.
Many of the analysts even believe that the in-fight of the Red Bull duo is a big reason why the 2010 championship still remains indecisive. With the car that the team had this season, they should have packed up the battle very easily long time back. However,
some issue has always stayed between both the team drivers since the beginning of the year.
Despite of all the odds, the team principal kept informing every now and then that the air has been cleaned, all the issues have been resolved and both the drivers enjoy a healthy relation now. Moreover, he has also vowed a number of times that the team
would not follow team orders and that the team would let both the drivers have an open competition until the very end.
However, the last comments of Webber seem to have pinched the driver badly as he said this morning that the achievements embraced by the driver this season including his four race wins and the numerous months that he has spent at the apex of the championship,
would not have been possible without the support of the team.
"We gave Mark the tools to get the job done. All his race victories have been in Red Bull cars and it's a great opportunity for both of them to compete and win this championship. Mark's had a lot of support not just this year but in all the time that he's
driven for Red Bull," said Horner.
However, while concluding the press conference the Austrian team Principal very clearly stated that the Red Bull Racing is heading for the next race without imposing any sort of team orders on either of its drivers. Yet, the results of the next race would
determine the team strategy for the last race of the season on Abu Dhabi, later this month.
