The Rock talks about his ‘childhood dream’ in Philadelphia – WWE News
Last week, The Rock gave John Cena a little history lesson when he went around Boston city on screen. This week, on Monday Night Raw SuperShow, The Rock had a different flavour. He was standing right next to the historic Rocky Balboa statue and spoke about
his childhood dream of becoming the ‘Greatest of all time’.
The session started with The Rock addressing Philadelphians, telling them how he started with WWE, and that since childhood it has been his dream to be a fighter. He said that the reason he loves Philadelphia is that true champions are born there, pointing
towards the Rocky statue. He then showed a picture of him. The picture had the 12-year-old Rock standing in front of the Rocky Balboa statue. The Rock said that it was his dream since childhood to become the most famous wrestler of all time and beat the very
best in the business.
Then we saw clippings of some of the most famous superstars of WWE such as Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior and Stone Cold Steve Austin. While the clips were being shown, The Rock was telling how he felt when he used to watch these wrestlers. He even said
that he beat Hulk Hogan to make his dream come true and then he even beat Stone Cold Steve Austin after losing the first fight against him.
Finally, the ended his speech saying that now he wants to beat John Cena to prove his mettle to the world and himself. According to Dwayne, his dream would remain incomplete if he does not beat John Cena. Therefore, he said he has to face Cena and beat him
to be the ‘Greatest wrestler’ of all time.
Later on in the show, we saw John Cena defeating Mark Henry just when The Rock came to ring to ‘Rock Bottom’ Mark Henry to show his wrath to John Cena. John Cena was star struck when The Rock did that. Without saying a word to Cena, The Rock left the arena.
As of now, there are no updates on The Rock’s upcoming plans. Both wrestlers will go one on one on WrestleMania 28.
