I am looking at renting a timeshare at the Royal in Playa del Carmen and would like to know if anyone has ideas of what the all inclusive rates are.

  1. Wow!  For any info or great deals/prices, go to this website that I've used - www.ytb.com/emcguire - good luck and have fun

  2. If you book through bookit.com it looks like you are looking at $225/pp/pn.  Buying/renting a timeshare week should save you off that, but bookit usually has the best prices if you just want a general idea what something will run.

The AI fees are paid directly to the resort; the member you are renting from should be able to tell you what they will run.  Or call the resort and ask!?  Of course fees vary according to what time of year you go.  Right now is the most expensive because it is high season, people wanting to get out of the cold; also spring break is coming up.

We recently booked a week at the Cozumel Palace by buying a member's timeshare week; it's costing us $2252 for 2 people, 8 days, 7 nights and we get a few extra perks; also the Palace resorts allow you to hop from one to another.  The Playacar Palace is $2658 for the same week; that includes buying the member's week and then the AI fees paid to the Palace.  Airfare is extra.  Easier and cheaper to get into CUN than COZ however.

Some places will require you to sit through a timeshare presentation; while this may get you a good deal it will be pretty high pressure and may cost you half a day of your vacation.

Check eBay for people renting out their timeshare weeks, or if you contact me I can tell you where we got ours.  But that would put you at the Palace Resort instead of the Royal.

Another option might be VRBO.com!  But that won't be AI.
