The Rugby World Cup is coming around really quickly, who do you think will be the dark horse of the comp?

The All Blacks are going into the tournament as favourites but there is always a team that surprises a few people. Who do you think it will be this year?

The favourites are New Zealand, Aus, South Africa, and France. They cant be dark horses for people above me who said they are.

The dark horses will be Ireland. They have a very experienced team and when its world cup that counts for a lot.

Ireland...they have a great starting 15 capable of beating any other team, on their day. If they can stay injury free, they'll be dangerous.

I have to agree that those who said South Africa is a dark horse are out of their mind. They have been billed as the second favorites by every news source I have checked. It is really hard to say because Ireland and Argentina, who previously I would have said one of the two will be the dark horse have not been playing very well. Italy and Scotland, however, have upped their game somewhat and might cause some damage in the quarter finals. Also notable are the French, who, although also favourites (probably third in line) will really give the New Zealanders a run for their money if not knocking them out.

HAHAHAH People are picking South Africa as a "Dark Horse"???  Are you serious???  Is Brazil a dark horse for the soccer world cup for you guys???

The dark horse will be the team that wins the Argentina vs Ireland game.  I cant see either one winning the world cup since they face a QF against New Zealand.  Having said that though, I am not totally convinced one of them couldn't win Pool D and force France into the match against NZ.

France are definately not the most consistant team and maybe THEY should be the ones with the "choke" tag at world cup time.  If Ireland or Argentina does win the pool, they should beat Italy/Scotland and then it's the Semi Final where anything could happen.

I agree that Scotland will be in that role. I watched their last 2 games and they really done wonders with their preparations. Fiji and Samoa are always in there but it is hard to predict as they had a team made of local players and now their players from Europe will join them. Will be cheering the weaker team in every game!

I pick Argentina as the dark horse. I agree that Samoa could cause a headache for one the top teams in their pool.

Scotland has to be. Not to win but in the pool c with NZ  and so shout be second quallifer and will be interesting to watch in the semis and Quater finals if they do well.

Argentina- The Pumas have had their rugby go from strength to strength in the past few years and like the French of the past are  not truly expected to over come their more notable opponents. I am afraid that if the French do well it will be expected if not that is to be expected as well the French are becoming well known for their unpredictability which makes them such a hard side to face.

The game I most look forward to is the French-Argentina clash I think this could produce a clash as worthy as any of the big SA, Eng, Oz, or AB clashes and cold possibly be one of the best of the tournament.

And for those of you who are five nations fan. Only the hard core Idiots could under rate such fine teams many a kiwi still remember times when we have been put to the sword by these teams and not an Ab today would walk on to the park against Ireland England Scotland or Wales expecting it to be a walk over.
