The Juventus defender has stated that the humiliation of the defeat in the friendly has fuelled the Azzurri’s desire to silence their critics; thanks Antonio Conte for his support.
Emanuele Giaccherini believes that the defeat against Russia has come bearing its own benefits.
The uncapped Juventus defender points out that on one hand, the humiliation has exonerated Italy of being the favourites for the Euro 2012 crown, while on the other hand, it has filled the Azzurri squad with a burning desire to
disprove their sceptics.

Giaccherini stated that the loss has released the Azzurri players from the pressure of mounting high expectations, and revealed that the team has now started concentrating on themselves.
The Bianconeri defender maintained that the Russia debacle could only do them good, as it has filled the Nazionale with a desire to disprove all of their critics. The Juventus-man stated that the first thing to do for the Azzurri

Giaccherini was a surprise inclusion in Cesare Prandelli’s final selection for Euro 2012, and the Bianconeri defender has also admitted his astonishment on being able to make his space in the Italy squad.
The former Cesena player believes that his triumphant campaign with Juventus has a lot to do with the Azzurri chief’s interest in him, and revealed that once he got his name in the initial selection, he gave his all to make it
into the final squad.
The Bianconeri left-back stated that he owes his inclusion in the Euros to Antonio Conte, who motivated him to bring out his best on the field of play.
