  1. all comes down to the MONEY

  2. Its a strange move, but the buildings at Moorabbin always gave me an impression of being built on the cheap or from second hand materials, so I dont blame them wanting to move, but on the subject of their pokies the move defies logic .   They were in dispute with the council at Moorabbin because they allegedly were refused permission to increase their  pokies.   Now reports say they "wont have any" at Frankston, so I dont follow that.

At Frankston they will be 55 k from the CBD, Geelong is 80 something so my thought is I wonder if the explored the possibilities of similarly becoming regionally based in their former recruiting base of Ballarat.     The area produced some big names for the Club like Lockett , Malthouse, Frawley,Perovic, Muir  Cunningham etc and the town still retains a huge interest in the Saints.    Probably the biggest no, no is the fact the place is always generally freezing  and has no beach for recovery sessions , so FRANKSTON  what a Marvellous IDEA !!    I still can't understand why they left the junction oval in ST KILDA, now the home base of MELBOURNE.    The Demons should have established a Lexus type centre at MELBOURNE university, because the intellectuals are their type of supporter, and St - Kilda should be where MELBOURNE are, in ST-KILDA .

  3. Ewww those Sainters are getting feraller and feraller....

  4. They just keep going East...First Junction oval then Moorabbin now Frankston..Who knows, next stop New Zealand!!~!

  5. What's Frankston like as a suburb? All I know is that my grandma moved there into a retirement home. Is it one of those old washed up suburbs with no life? If so then maybe it suits the saints - they don't seem to have much life in them.

  6. hehehe!!!

    Yeah I know...What's with that?

    Who would have thought???

  7. It has been 6, maybe 8 years since I was at Moorabin. It didn't look good then.

I don't think I have ever been to Frankston, I know I haven't seen the ground there.

Saints are looking for dollars to afford to go on.

Same boat that Hawthorn, Footscray and North, desparate to do anything for money.

  8. The Saints were forced to move, if they wanted facilities for their players.

They didn't even have proper medical and training equipment at Moorabin, so anywhere is better than nothing.

I suppose Frankston is a good spot for the players, when they need sun, sand, surf, and wading through the water the day after a match, to get the strength back into their legs.

Lets face it..Moorabin was the A##e end of the earth, and more Ferrell than a bay side spot. At least the dole bludgers will be able to go and watch training for something to do, other than wait for Sam Newmans street talk interviews.

  9. So do we now call them the Southern Saints or Frankston Peninsula Saints?

Just a couple of facts for the others, Frankston is 42 km from the CBD, hence that is where the Melbourne marathon use to start, Also to Blackduc, they have moved south not east, both Moorabbin and Frankston are south of the CBD and the Junction oval.

  10. More financially better off for them.

That's the main reason for the move

  11. Probably because it's cheap.

Maybe they'd rather move to the Gold Coast. The weather is better up here than way down there.

  12. who cares as long as its not the tigers
