The Sims 2 Apartment Life Won't Work on my Computer?!?!?

Okay, so I just got the Sims 2 Apartment Life Today and it doesn't work! It's not the CD thing because it takes other CDs perfectly fine, and it's not the actual game CD itself because it works on the other computer. It's driving me and my dad nuts because we cannot figure it out! Please help! Oh and I've updated EVERYTHING on my computer about a millions times and I deleted TONS of stuff for space but I just cannot get it working!

Well, i'm sure you do not need to delete any more ram since that exact same thing had happened to me. There is nothing wrong with the cd. Try going on my computer and RIGHT clicking the sims 2 apartment life icon, then click install or run. I hope it works or else you should try taking the cd out, RESTART THE COMPUTER AND TRY AGAIN. THAT MUST WORK!!!! I have expierienced it now and i have a usb and are saving it on there, instead of wasting room on my computer. Good Luck and have fun playing, i did!!!

are  you sure  you actually have a  dvd  drive  ?

from the sound of it you have a cd rom player  and a cd rom player  wont  recongise a  dvd  rom disc  

the sims apartment life only comes on a dvd  

if unsure  look at the fron of the bezel of  your  cd drive if there is no  dvd  logo on it you have a cd rom drive and you need to upgrade to a dvd drive  

which is either 35  for an internal one or  50  for an external one  you  plug in a usb port

or just reboot

xp has a tendency  to  ignore its  optical disc drives  if its been on for a while  and sees them again  when you reboot

try that before laying down  50  for an external  dvd  writer
