The Sims 2 Open For Business Help!?

I was wondering if when i promote someone to manager, if they will call in the employees and set their jobs and open the business or do i have to do all that?

Yes they do. But it's no guarantee the business will actually profit. Managers have the strange habit of assigning everyone new jobs every 5 minutes. When I visited one of my businesses the manager had 3 employees on tidy-up duty and no one cashiering. Needless to say he got demoted....

You also have to check in at least once a day by using the phone (I think the option is under 'business').  If you don't, you'll get pop-ups saying things like ' Sparky's Appliance Shop made no money without you there today. Better go over and shake things up a bit' or words to that effect.
