The Sims 3: Generations is the best selling game in the UK for the previous week on PCs, again – Charts
When the best selling games in a nation, known for being hardcore football fanatics, are what they are in the United Kingdom at the moment, one has to wonder where the world is going and how long we as human beings will be around.
In order to prolong the reader’s sanity and to give us all those few extra moments of life before the truth hits, we shall start by looking at the number 10 spot.
Shogun 2: Total War sounds like a video game one can be proud of. The ‘Shogun’ sounds cool and menacing, the ‘2’ signifies that the first game was good enough to prompt a sequel and ‘Total War’, well nothing needs to be said. Sadly though, it seems the world
is not into Total War at the moment, though the statement is slightly ironic, as the game can only manage squeezing into the last spot on the Top 10 chart.
Showing that no matter how hard one tries, the nerds can never be beaten, as they rise up from the Cataclysms to keep on trolling. Yes, that pun was aimed at World of Warcraft fans, and yes that means that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is in the number nine
position.
When Portal 2’s predecessor was first released it became a cult sensation and the second installment not only lived up to the hype and delivered, it has also managed to teleport itself back into the number eight spot after falling off the radar in the previous
week. There still, however, has not been any cake!
It seems nerds are not satisfied with just the fantasy world of mythological creatures as they have taken over space as well, with StarCraft 2 managing to earn itself a spot at number seven for the week.
The Witcher 2 was met with praise when it first came out, and controversy and inner developer-publisher lawsuits later. The game is now on the up again, as the action/adventure role playing game took over the sixth position.
For a country that always complains about not having enough sun, it seems odd that the majority of the gamers in the United Kingdom are opting to stay indoors and play the Sims instead of going outside and getting a nice tan. It is, after all, the middle
of summer.
The reason for that assumption is that The Sims 3: Late Night, The Sims: Medieval and The Sims 3 are all in the number fifth, fourth and third position respectively.
Luckily, one can still tell that the charts truly are from the United Kingdom as Football Manager 2011 is towering over everyone but the number one spot.
Finally at the top of the pile, for yet another week, is The Sims 3: Generations. Only time will tell whether this is just a phase for the UK or something much, much worse.
