The Sims 3 makes a comeback in United Kingdom’s PC Charts
It is a real wonder how time flies and another week is upon us before one knows the previous one has ended. It seemed only yesterday we were talking about United Kingdom’s PC charts and observing that how many of Electronic Arts’ Sims titles were present
in it. It turns out The Sims are not going anywhere, but a certain other game is still flying high.
Starting things off with the number 10 spot and it seems the Real Time Strategy game, Dawn of War 2: Retribution, is almost at daybreak as the game is continuing its slide down the charts. However, THQ should be satisfied with how the game has sold in the
charts for the time it has been there.
Proving that there is never a shortage of nerds in United Kingdom, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, is in the top 10 and is managing to keep gamers entertained with just enough quests to keep it from falling off the top end of the charts and into the Cataclysms
below.
The first of many Sims titles in the charts is The Sims 3: Late Night. It seems UK has quite a few people who would rather stay at home in front of a PC and have a virtual party by themselves instead of going out and meeting real people.
The second Sims game in the charts, which sold marginally better, is The Sims Medieval, which comes in at number 7. Obviously, the wage of nostalgia that hit UK in the previous week has carried on into this one as gamers want to explore their past, their
Medieval past.
It seems PC gamers are not as big fans of the zombie apocalypse as the rest the console gaming community as the Deep Silver’s Dead Island has fallen drastically down in the charts before crashing in at the number 6 spot.
Remaining fairly consistent in the middle of the table is the augmentation friendly game by Square Enix, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. A majority of gamers prefer to play through the game using stealth and the game itself has managed to sneak around the same
spot in the charts for some time.
Proving that UK has some sanity is Sega’s Football Manager 2011, which has seen a spike in sales despite the fact that the next iteration of the game is expected out in October.
The Sims 3: Generations and The Sims 3 take the number 3 and number 2 spots respectively, as virtual dolls seem to be the craze for many.
However, with a big gun and even bigger armour, topping the chart for the week is THQ’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, yet can it keep its place until next week? Only time will tell.
