How many of you have been rejected by employers in your search for work or a second job? How many of you think that this employment rejection is based on your race or the color of your skin and NOT based on aptitude?

What is the sociological side of this problem?

  1. Well, this depends on where you live.here we are all of the same color only that one who is white is preferred for a job to one who is black with same or better qualifications(stereotyping).

  2. I have never felt discriminated in that way... but I have not had many interviews, and I am a woman, therefore a minority in some business eyes....

I do hate it when you see an ad that says women and minorities considered or encouraged.  I think that is a bid racist and sexist.  If a white male has the best credentials than he should be hired, regardless of the percentage of minorities the companies think they need.

  3. I agree with Softi about location.  Who you know and your personality plays a part also.
