  1. Then say 'thank you', sweetie!

  2. LOL thats hillarious but they like you and if they harras you too much tell on them

  3. Let's clarify a few things.  Special Education includes people with learning disabilities.  The definition of a learning disability is a person with average to above average intelligence who is displaying a significant discrepancy between ability and achievement on standardized measures.

What you are describing are people who are lacking in social skills.  This may or may not be due to decreased levels of cognition.  It might be due to emotional disturbance or even just poor environmental factors related to development of social skills.

Additionally, not all people who are mentally retarded have poor social skills.  Sometimes deficits lay in other adaptive skills areas but not social skills.

My advice:  mentor these young students with same gender peers who can assist them in acquiring the social skills necessary to develop meaningful relationships and friendships.  You can always talk to your local school psychologist to gain a better understanding of special education services, and especially some of the hurdles facing those students who receive services.  Too often someone is prejudged by being in special education.  Its a hidden form of discrimination, very similar to discrimination suffered by minorities, only worse, because society devalues special education students, especially those with mental retardation and the discrimination is accepted by most members of society.  Have a person call another the "N" word and the world stops.  Ever notice anyone pause when calling someone "r****d"?  Nope.  Shame.

Something to ponder?  Is a person's value dependent on their IQ?  If so, where's the cutoff?   What if you're below that cutoff ? Hmmmm...

  4. so.... whats the question?

  5. Well they do have feelings so maybe they do like you....lol

  6. so. hoo cares if he called you s**y

  7. Yes, and....? Are you ashamed that someone with a mental disability is attracted to you? Does that make you feel insecure?

  8. My son is thirteen and he has autism.  The teen years are going to be hard enough for him without people like you using him as comic relief.

You're not a "regular kid" because of merit, you're a "regular kid" because of sheer luck.  Only fortune kept you from being a "special ed kid."

Think about that and grow up.

  9. you two should hook up

  10. Ok, the experience suprised you, as it would for most teenage girls.  The guys were trying to give you a compliment, in a strange way.  They just don't know any better.  They have seen their brothers, friends, guys on TV talk to girls, but they can't get it together.

I'm going to make a guess based on my work experience that these kids have some sort of mild mental disability.  They needed someone to tell them that was not the best way to talk to someone, but I would not say that person was necessarily you.  I would have just kept walking.  If it bothers you, tell your PE coach that it made you feel uncomfortable.  If you see their teacher without the boys around, just mention it to the teacher.  S/he has probably handled them saying things like this before.  I would guess that you won't get them in real trouble this first time, but rather a talking to.  However, if it happens again, they deserve to get in trouble.  They need to know it's not right.

  11. OMG you know what hat use to happen to me too and that kid was like 2 years younger than me I know they are so annoying look just tell them thanks and there youre done and one day h**l ask you out.

  12. Tell them its not nice to call someone s**y.   Encourage them to stay and

to give you and your friends space to do your exercises.

  13. Where's the question here?

  14. First off, people with mental disabilities can understand the english language...asking why they have those words in their vocabulary is like asking why we know what curse-words are...we hear them. We learn them. It's that simple.

As for the boy...take it as a compliment, be nice, say thank you, and if you're not interested, then just don't go out with him!

  15. huh?

  16. That's very sweet.

  17. lawlocaust

  18. thats messed up

  19. ummm okay i got the first part bt not the rest...

bt jus be nice to them. that doesnt meen you hafe to go with them.

  20. o.........k

  21. All special Ed kids are like that. They really don't mean it by offending you. Those kids just want a friend. Be their friend..they want like you or want you..lol

  22. So what are you saying?  Do you have a question?

  23. do wat u think is rite

  24. these young boys were just being nice too you! they mean no harm, iam sure that you've fancied someone before! if your not interested in dating them then do. say thanks and leave it as that.

if your still worried or feel unsure about being around them, talk too a teacher.

please don't be rude too these you man, they will get too much c**p of small minded people, who have too bully people too feel better about themselves.

you could always just be friends with them, you may learn some thing about them or even about your self.

i work at a special ed school, work one to one a weekends and school holidays with a young lady who has special need and i teach special needs adults and children too swim.

  25. First of all, you love the attention...

Second of all, although he has "special needs" he is still a boy and he is still growing.....And what do growing boys do?  I think you get the point...

  26. get at'em

  27. they call everybody s**y.
