What planets do you think were in aspect that allowed the star to shine so brightly in the sky?

  1. Kepler claimed that great events in history occurred every 800 years using multiples of Jupiter and Saturn conjunctions. From what I've studied, great people as well as great events seem to take place when Jupiter and Saturn are in conjunction. So maybe this aspect would be likely to be in good aspect to the Sun and other major planets in the chart.

There's so much speculation about when Christ was born. I know some speculate that there was a massive conjunction of many planets heralding the beginning of the age of Pisces.

  2. wow, You're on a role with these awesome questions tonight. I have no idea. The only thing I can think of is a Grand sextile aspect in the sky, where all the planets are in sextile or trine each other. In astrology, this extremely rare aspect is also called a star of david.

  3. my friend who is J.W says that the star was there to show king Herod where the baby was to kill him, it was put there by lucifer. I dont know if this is true or just her as she does allot of speed. I always though it was a celebration of the birth of christ

  4. The star of David as known in the bible was the guiding light used by the three Magi to find where Jesus was born... The bright morning star ***VENUS*** <<<that usually shines so bright specially so early in the morning thought to be that shining star>>>

Edit: The moon, the stars and planets- (specially VENUS) visible to human eye can be easily distinguished in the area such as the  Torrid zone, or the Equator where the sun path follows... Stars, moon, planets seems to be much bigger (in sizes), and brighter compared to what they appear at the Temperate, and Frigid zone areas...

Keep in mind that Jesus was born in December, the coldest month of the year...The Earth also travels at it's farthest distance from the sun. When Earth reaches its farthest travel, it means that it is very close to Jupiter and Saturn. Since this two are the biggest planets in the Milky Way, it is possible that they will shine brighter... If Venus and Mercury also paralled during this time of the year, I would say that it will make Venus more brighter since it is the only planet that is visible in the sky and to human eye...

    good question of course--lol--...

  5. Hi, Janet:)

I was under the impression that the three wise men were stars as well...

  6. I agree there is a lot of speculation. This maybe a better question for the mythology section. Another good possibility is a comet sighting. Comets sometimes could be seen in the daytime. Also note there is no set amount for the wise men (people just like three) and Hebrews did not practice astrology. It's was considered an abomination.

Edit: Magi astrologers? Until fairly recently when dinosaur fossils started turning up most though the universe was only a few thousand years old. Highly doubt that these "astrologers" had a concept that time went back into the millions or billions of years. More speculation.

  7. The Star of Bethlehem was actually an astrological configuration that was in the pattern of the Seal of Solomon, which is the Star of David encircled by a Grand Sextile.  This entire phenomena took place over 4 days from February 28th, 5BC to March 2nd, 5 BC, which was Jesus' birthday.

The magi astrologers knew the meaning of this rare astrological phenomena that happens only once every 40 million years.

It's also likely that these magi were from Babylon, where the Jewish prophet Daniel was the head of the magi(wise men and astrologers) about 500+ years prior to Jesus' birth.  It is likely that along with his other prophecies concerning the timing of Jesus' birth, he left astrological charts detailing his birth which these men used for reference.

  8. Jupiter and Saturn.

I have read and heard that from several sources.

The year most agreed upon is 7 BC.  King Herod started his census in 6 BC.  For some reason which I can't remember, the census of Jews didn't start until 7 BC.  There is much dispute concerning the exact birthdate.  The only thing agreed upon is that it was not Dec 25.  That date was selected to give Pagan's an easier transition to Christianity.

Saturn and Jupiter were around 21Pisces in 7BC.  I would think they would also need to be parallel by declination for them to appear as one star in the sky.  Maybe they were also conj the Sun.  I think a mid March bday makes perfect sense.  I also believe a Virgo Asc works as it puts most of his planets in the Southern Hemisphere.

  9. interesting way of putting it. i dont think planets had anything to do w/ it, but im pretty sure God did. im guessing that He made it just to mark Christ's birth
