The Statute of Limitations is 6/3 years in Colorado and in Nebraska its 4/5 years.

Question

How do I know which one applies? The state that I'm currently living in (Colorado) or the state where it occurred (Nebraska)? And if you speak with them, even just to verify that the debt is still valid, does that start the time over again or just if you agree to make a payment?

Its the state where it occurred.  If you speak to them at all on the matter the statute gets restarted.
