Mardan Mamat will be playing in this year’s Thai Open 2010. He is said to be prepared well under his Guru’s wings and is thus in fine form. Among many, Mamat is marked as a rising star. He will be displaying his abilities in the upcoming Thailand Open 2010 which will continue till the 3rd of October.
The player from Singapore has recently claimed the Indonesian Open. Mamat, after carding a total of 138 over the two days, has had a strong finish the past week and now has made plans to tee-off again on One Asia. This tournament marks as the 6th event regarding the 2010 season.
Sukhdev Singh, Mamat’s yoga master, taught the forty two year old his mantra; go out and enjoy. Given his performances in the past years his game certainly has increased much more in confidence. However the mantra did not work alone, his Australian swing Guru has taught him a great deal as well. He has trained himself under the wings of Kel Llewellyn which resulted in immediate boost in his performances.
Along with Mamat, several other exceptional entries have been seen. China’s number one, Liang Wen-Chong along with Thaworn Wiratchant and Shingo Katayama from Japan are also playing.
The proof of his apex form can be seen in a number of recent events held. The Mercedes-Benz Masters is one of them. Mamat currently holds total birdies of 84. The game held at Kuala Lumpur had ended in a spectacular win by the young professional. In 16 years, this was his first win.
New Zealand’s Michael Hendry played a major source of competition for Mamat as he had scored with four under a 70.
According to recent reports, Mamat planned to take some rest before The Thai Open 2010 began. With the total average of 0.63, ranking 37, he will be heading for the European masters due to be held in Switzerland. The event under discussion has reached the double of its course amounting to US $1 million.
The defending champion, Jyoti Randhawa, is also playing this event as well. Randhawa scored 263 with a -17 last time and is aiming to do much better. The Thailand Open will be following the stroke play format like always.
To par Mamat stands at number 56 with a plus 7. This golfer can certainly play without a single drop of water and still show exceptional form. On the first extra holes in Kuala Lumpur, he managed to beat Pariya Junhasavasdikul. According to Mamat the event’s second round affected him the most since he was fasting. Of course this resulted in affecting the round as well.
According to the current match stats Urdon Duangdecha played a shot for 12 under par for the million dollar Open 2010. With Liang Wen-Chong a stroke back at 67, the round was bogey free. Regarding OneAsia, this rising star will be appearing the second time. The last time he did, he gained fifth place. The tournament presented by Enjoy Jakarta sent Mamat back with a total of US $ 36,000. Mamat currently stands with a total of 71 bogeys and 3 eagles. He has already won many team based tournaments. The World Cup qualifiers that took place and his current statistics all give him a green signal for the Thai open. The current event where Mamat will be appearing will take place in the golfers paradise; Thailand. This event is co sponsored by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), CAT telecom, Emirates, PTT public company and Singha Corporation.
