The Thirteen Colonies?

So each colony somewhat reflects its founder(s) in some way, however how does Georgia reflect the ideas of its founder, James Oglethorpe?

There were 2 reasons why Georgia was founded.

1. as a " buffer zone" so that English South Carolina was protected

    from Spanish Florida.

2. The people who originally were sent to Georgia were sponsored by

    James Oglethorpe. These people were either those debtors who

     were forced to live in prison along with low and mid grade felons,

    horse thieves or those who could be hanged or placed in prison

     until they died-- back then a short time. Oglethrope wasd an

    advocate of sending these people abroad so that thet could start

    a new life.

3. Oglethorpe was in charge of the colony from 1733-1738. He served

     as the Head Administrator, judge, and medical doctor to the colony.

     While he was in charge he banned slavery and alchohol from the

     colony. he was replaced/kicked out of the colony because most of

     the colonists wanted 2 things. You guessed it, slaves and rum. He

     went back to England and watched his colony become a part of

     the new United States.

It might not. Georgia was created as a buffer colony by Britain so that the enemies of the British and the Indians would have to go through Georgia before reaching more populated and critical cities.
