In scene five, how does Brutus change his opinion about the need for Caesar's death?

  1. He decides that he must do it for the good of the Roman people.  He realizes that Caesar's ego has grown too large and that he has used the Romans to gain the power that he has, like climbing a ladder and stepping on the people who helped get you there.  Brutus is afraid of what Caesar might do if he does indeed gain any more power, so he decides that it must be by his death that the Romans are saved from Caesar.
