Question:

The True Meaning in Having A GIFT?

When someone say "oh this person is gifted" or "this person has a gift" does that mean whatever that person is gifted in is perfect at it? Or what? Lets say I have a gift in acting...does that mean I'm perfect at it and acting comes naturally for me..or does it mean I have the ability to do it but can still have some work done to approve better..so maybe 10 years later I can be one of the best?

When I hear someone say.."Oh it's a gift" I automatically think it comes naturally to that person and they are really good at it and they don't need training....I'm think they are perfect at whatever gift they have....really really good at it and nothing can go wrong.

  1. It means you have potential and you could probablymake it at a normal level without training, but you still should train and perfect your talent. Like when people say  have a gift for football, I go out and train until i think i am perfect. Because I still need work to get in the NFL, but i can make it with the same amount of training as that fatty who didnt make it in had.

  2. A person who has a gift.. at singing , writing, painting, playing an instrument, singing or acting or writiing music.. has just that.. a gift.. a gift means you got something special.. that could become a great talent.. but only if you work very very hard at it.. like a singer.. he needs to be born with a gift for singing but if he does nothing about that... then he will be a waste of time.. he will be mediocre all his life and throw something special away.. not everyone is gifted so a person who is... needs to work really hard and put a  lot of effort into it to become really good.. that doesn't happen on it's own.. no singer, no painter, no good actor, nobody with a gift gets there just by sitting back and thinking''I got a gift... this will work for me..'' they have to train that gift.. go to a special school... train their voice.. take lessons. go to a conservatoire for music or actors have to study acting.. but a person with thi gift if they really try they can reach that goal.. but the way to the top is hard.. and only those who really try hard will stay on the top... us normal people without the gift.. we can take music lessons.. but as we don't have the gift.. we can still with a lot of effort manage to become afterage good instrument players or we can have our voices trained well enough to perhaps sing at a family special gathering but we will never make it to fame.. a person with a gift can but only those who put a lot of sweat and tears behind it will get there....  x*x

  3. It means that you have a talent in whatever field they're saying you have a gift in. You have a lot of raw talent that came naturally...now all you have to do is keep on training to perfect it.

  4. I'd say a gift means natural talent.  You're right, people with a gift can still improve with training.  On the other hand, someone without talent might not be able to be great no matter how hard they try.

I love to sing and I've even taken lessons, but I'll never be better than a mediocre singer.
