The Tudors-miscasted?

Do you really think that JRM is a good choice to play Henry VIII, I mean he's pretty and all, but he just doesn't seem right. Personally I think Steven Waddington ( who played Buckingham in Season 1 ) Would have been much better, physically and presence wise. What do you think?

  1. I haven't seen the show too often, but I agree.

Although I am a fan of JRM's, I think he is totally wrong for the part. I also don't think he's done his best acting in the show either.

  2. I completely agree.  I'm not a fan of JRM at all and when I see him on TV he just doesn't seem like Henry VIII at all. He would be better suited to playing Charles Brandon (although Henry Cavill is really good in that role).  Steven Waddington would definitely have been more convincing as Henry - he's more like Ray Winstone who played Henry VIII in a mini series a couple of years ago.  I'm curious to see how they will age JRM in the next two seasons though.

I'm also not sure about Joss Stone being cast as Anne of Cleeves.  I'll reserve judgement until I see her performance but I don't think she is right for the role at all.  The best casting choice in The Tudors has to be Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn.  She's the best actress I've seen in that role.
